Default Too Many Choices!!!help!

I was originally going to get the slp long tubes w/ slp y-pipe b/c i have the loudmouth cat back on my camaro already. Now i come here and the mass majority say to stay away from slp headers. Now i have a problem, whats going to provide the most hp gain, still be emissions legal and still match up to a y-pipe w/ emmission legal which will also fit onto my catback slp exhaust. I was consdiering MAC, FLP, or Hooker. What should i do!?

For the price of slp you could go with Kooks or QTP. Im sure most people will tell you the same. I would say stainless is the way to go

I agree with the Kooks or QTP in stainless suggestion...the biggest problem with SLP headers is the ground clearance...I have them and they scrape alot. As for emissions legality...technically speaking, no headers are legal. Federal law says that you can't replace cats unless they're defective and that you can't change a converter's location in the system, which LTs do. I am not familiar with CT's emission laws, but if there's no visual inspection you should be fine passing a sniffer test with cats...just my .02

I like my SLP's but if and when I go to change headers it would be either Kooks or QTP's.

I think Jet hots look descent, still deciding between them or Kooks though, QTP is also an option for me right now, the only problem is i'm trying to keep it emissions legal, i know no headers are legal but what y-pipe did you use w/ your jet hots? Their y-pipe as well? Also do you know if it will fit the loudmouth cat back exhaust?

The Jet Hots look awesome in person and can be made emissions legal. I'm using the ORY with GMMG but you can get the catted y pipe and still run your Loudmouth without any problems.

You might want to look into TTS headers. If you want the most hp you need to go with QTP and their merge collectors. I know that I am. I have been told by more than one installer that QTP and TTS are the best fitting headers on the market.

Ok i read that sticky at the top, specifically the part regarding the Loudmouth Cat-back system. Which is the cat back system i have, so are you saying if i add say for example jet hot headers w/ y-pipe i'm going to get an annoying raspy sound instead of a loud pissed off exhaust sound?

Get QTPs....www.quicktimeperformance.com

they are the best... their fit and finish is exellent as well as the performance... i got a set on order with the high velocity merge collectors for ultimate power
c
i would suggest to stay away from all the coated headers...they will rust sooner or later... very soon if you are driving the car in the rain or winter conditions

w/o cats and or bullets yes.

if you do your research on LM you'll find a bunch of people who ended up dumping there LM setup when they got into the big mods h/c, LT's and ORY cuz of the rasp and drone and other wise unappealing sound it produces.

Wow, i wish i could afford that. 800 w/ air and egr setup plus an additional 500 for the y-pipe w/ cats? The jet hots are runnin closer to a G and thats what i was looking to spend. Just one question, do you know if that catted y-pipe w/ the qtp's are removable like the jet hots?

Ok From everyones opinions so far, i'd do the QTP's but its a little pricey, as well as the FLP's. Jet Hot however is in my price range and i havnt heard anyone say not to get them, i'm leaning towards the Jet hots and when they send me the info on them i'm going to most likely get them w/in month or so. So if anyone has any words against Jet Hots let me know. Thanks for all the help.

Now i read a thread that says the catted y-pipe from jet hot sucks. Anyone else hear this? Supposedly the cats arent good enough. So does anyone know if i do Jet hot headers if they will match up w/ another catted y-pipe that will aslo fit my catback LM exhaust?

I would get the Catted Y from QTP, since you have to pass emmissions. It will fit the Jet-Hot headers. Yes, the Jet Hot Catted Y I guess sucks...I was going to buy it too, but now I am not. I am in the same perdiciment as you..
