Default Another oil question and smoke

Hey guys! Just bought my first Camaro on Tuesday! And actually my first Chevy vehicle! I did a search trying to find the answer to my question but with no luck, it may be that I'm just a little slow... anyways!

It's a 2002 Chevy Camaro Z28 with 110,000 miles and I'm wondering if switching to synthetic oil is worth it or not. The original owner changed the oil every 3,000 miles with Mobil 1 non-synthetic oil (( 5w-30 )) all it's life, I'm just debating on switching to full synthetic or if the engine is already got wear and tear and full synthetic will not benefit it at all.

Would ya'll recommend just sticking to the Mobil 1 since it's been used all it's life, or would switching to Royal Purple be better? There's only about $6-$10 different between the two (( For 5 quarts )) so if there's actually a plus side and it's not too late I'd go ahead and switch oils!

My other question is that I'm experiencing white smoke coming out of the exhaust even after it's fully warmed up, it's currently about 40 degrees down here so I'm hoping it's the temperature that's causing it but do ya'll think it may be a bad head gasket?

It's only doing it at idle and sitting still, once you move it pretty much goes away and it's also not a lot of smoke just a tiny bit. Any thoughts on the topic? Thanks in advance guys!

It's not going to hurt anything to switch it to synthetic.

If you aren't using any coolant than its fine.
