Default Cat-back Question.

I have had my eye on the GMMG setup but I have also seen a Borla setup I like as well. Which system has more potential?

I'm not really sure what you mean by potential? Catbacks all make around the same hp (disregarding flowmaster). With that said I have a friend with borla, another with GMMG and I've heard corsa in person. The gmmg has my vote for the best tone hands down, corsa and magnaflow also sound really nice. I honestly dont care for the borla its very raspy even compared to the gmmg.

GMMG, Nice chambered sound, Its seems that flows straight trough but IDK about borla muffler though.

What I mean by potential is at the moment my car is stock. I have an idea of sound from friends and video of both as well as magna flow systems. I like the idea of the gmmg but I am also going to be doing headers. I am just looking for the performance aspects.

I went with magnaflow because it's straight trough muffler and outflows any catback out there but its pretty quiet.

Just be aware that either of those systems will be insanely loud and raspy with headers. I had a GMMG and it took a lot of extra parts to tone it down after installing LT's. The system ended up weighing 1000 lbs. so I ditched it for a straight through 3" single exit Hooker Maxflow (like a Magnaflow).

A single exit straight-through muffler works well on a Z28 or Formula and is the best flowing system around (unless you go to duals). You can build it yourself using parts from Summit and it will be cheaper than any of the brand catbacks.

Gmmg vs borla potential? From what I understand the borla will make more power. Iv had 2 borlas. Both unadjustable. I love them bigtime.

The non adjustable borla sounds great and I really dont think the rasp is crazy if any. Even when slowhawk was tuning my car he asked what catback it was because there wasnt any rasp.
To each his own. Some guys are picky any hate catless y pipes and guys like me love no cats. I really like the borla. Had a mag on the 98z and wasnt bad either. Its all about opinion
