Default Exhaust size advice

So I need a bit of guidance please.

Current setup is 1 3/4" eBay longtubes with a 2.5" y, into a single 3". Would it be worth it to hack off the y merge and put a dual 2.5 -> 3.5" pipe flow master merge? Current merge is nice, but is the size holding me back?

How much would I really gain with a 1 7/8" header, 3" y to a 4" cat back?

From everything I've read, I don't think it would hold you back until you get 75-100 more rwhp.
