Default Flowtech LTs

Have had a set of Flowtech LTs in my garage for about 2 years now and i just realized the box says for 98-99 years. I have an 01 M6. My question is: Are they really that different? Will they fit or am i assed out? Thanks in advance.

You are fine they will just have the EGR plates that will need to be blocked off.

Cut out. So with a 3 inch ory and a 3 inch electric cutout with everything you will need is about 360. Thats if you cut the i pipe your self and weld in the cutout which is not hard if you can weld. This would sound good with the cutout.

Imo, go with a custom y most of the pre fabed y pipes have have crappy merges buy a nice y merge flowmaster/magnaflow have good ones take it to a good muffler shop and have them make you a y pipe you'll probably gain 5-10 hp over a pre fabed one with a crappy merge and it might even save you some money!!!

When I was running my Flowtechs I bought a Hooker ory. I took it to a muffler shop to have it installed so i'm not 100 percent sure on whether they had to modify it or not but if they did it was where it went into the catback not the y itself but I'll go ahead and warn you unless flowtechs have changed they design in the last couple years you'll need to notch the k member slightly on the passenger side. Mine rattled like all hell until I had it notched other than that they were great. I'm about to put those same headers on my SS.

How complicated is it to do an in-home install? Im pretty stocked up on tools minus a welder.

What cat back will you be running? On the cat back close to where the y pipe bolts on you will put cutout up to the catback. Then get a marker and mark how wide it is. Then cut the catback where the marks are. Then your catback will be in two piece. Then weld the cutout where you cutout the piece. make sure when you weld it or who ever welds it makes sure the face of the cutout is angled down some not up so it hits the floor. if you take your catback to a welder to weld it in it should be like 50 bucks or cheaper. then you will have a great sounding exhaust!
