Having issues with car. Hope this is the right section Well, I'm at my wit's end with this car.
I don’t' drive it very often. Usually every other Friday. I drove it about 5 miles toward work yesterday, then it started acting up. I limped home, and got in the daily to go to work.
Vehicle description
2001 Pontiac Formula
98,xxx Miles
Automatic w/3200 Vigilante Stall
225/225 .589/.589 112LSA
Stage II Heads
Pacesetter Cat-less Long Tubes. (No rear O2 Sensors)
Magnaflow Cat-Back
Symptoms are as follows.
-Anything low speed, the idle begins to go down to around 400 and die.
-Very rough Idle
-I have to pump the gas (if it even helps) to get the car started, and hold it somewhere over 1K to keep the car alive.
-When I do get it started, it's spitting gas out the tailpipe pretty bad.
-Sounds as if the vehicle's timing is off. There are very faint backfire noises.
What I've done so far.
-Replaced the spark plugs
-Checked fuel pressure at the fuel rail. ~52-55 PSI at the rail
-Changed the Cam Position Sensor
What my next course of action is to buy new the following items.
-IAT Sensor
-MAF
-Front O2 Sensors
How easy is it to physically throw timing on these cars?

Figure it out That was my next purchase. However, we pulled both valve covers, and saw this on the drivers side, rear cylinder. Intake valve failed.
These heads have about 35k on them since purchased in 2004. They were bought from Texas Speed, and they were the Patriot Performance heads before TSP decided to no longer sell them.
I'll be pulling the head soon and see if there is any damage below.
I attached a pic of the valve. Hopefully you can see the damage.
