Default How much gain if any?

I've got a h/c/i car and I'm running a 85mm slp maf and a slp lid. How much will I pick up if any going to a 100mm maf and a 104mm lid? I'm going to have my car tuned again before long and I'm curious as to whether I should try to do the swap. Thanks

Even with an LS6 (for now) intake? I'm curious as well.

I know the gains will be substantial when I switch to a FAST, but if those gains are correct even for an LS6 with ported TB, I'm all over it.

All day. BBK and Pro Products advertise gains of 15 with their intakes over the LS6. Also my friend gained a solid 10 with a 102/102 over his 90/90 combo on his h/c vette and he's making 440rwhp. There is no way I'd run an LS6 on a cammed car let alone a heads and cam car, there is too much to be left on the topend

I ran an ls6 intake on my ms4 car and it ran great. I know I would have seen gains going to a fast intake but I changed my direction and went with ls3 heads on this current build.

Look at the gain in volume and runner length you have over an LS6, that's where the gains come from

who are you trying to convince here? me or the OP?

I know a FAST will help in any sitiuation, but less on smaller stock(ish) engines.

I'd pick an LS6 intake over a BBK intake any day...thats like swapping to a different brand of headers hoping to pick up more HP.

My opinion, start with the LS6 and when it becomes neccessary to upgrade, go straight to the FAST.

It was directed at the op, I misread that he already had it. If someone already had the LS6 I would say keep it but no way I'd ever buy one

why would you never buy one? even if you had bolt on's you would stick with the LS1 or go straight for the overpriced FAST to pick up 3hp over an LS6?

thats crazy.

I have a reliable source for cheap FAST intakes, I can get a FAST 78 for 400 when he has one which is what I will be doing. Then when I do my heads and cam I will have it ported out to an 85mm and run a full 85mm intake tract. I've just talked to too many people and seen for myself that a BBK or a Typhoon will pull away from the LS6 in the upper rpms on any setup other than stock. And the fact that the BBKs and Typhoons are the same price out here as LS6s makes it a no.brainer for me

I've seen the BBK post higher gains over a ls6 than that and it's the same price or just over the ls6.

nope...not what i ment to type, not at all...dont know what I was thinking at the time. cut me some slack, just left work then an hour drive home.

at any rate, I wouldnt ever waste the money putting a FAST intake on a vehicle unless the airflow requirements were not being satisfied. I also would not put any aluminum intake on my vehicle because LS6 intakes are just as good and IMO, dont look hideous. once the LS6 is tapped, i'd go straight to the FAST.

LS6 intakes are plentiful and can be opened up to accept a larger TB as well. there is a reason almost everyone on here has an LS6 intake as one of their first mods and not a BBK or similar.

also, my personal experience...and i know this probably doesnt hold much merit and I dont expect it to...If you find the right idiot with more money than brains, you can pick up and LS6 intake for 50 bucks.

guy I know had an 01 T/A, bone stock as a rock off the dealers lot (used) 30k miles and his first mod was a BBK intake. I offered him 50 bucks for the intake and he took it, right before he told me he was just going to throw it away because it was plastic and couldnt scrap it. He is an oldschool guy that is used to stock 350 quadra-jet intakes not being worth anything and scrapping them....

good story, I know it doesnt prove anything, but it makes me feel good. ESP since I have been at work all night and now I cant sleep.
