Default Help Assembling Engine, LS6 Build, First Timer.

I bought an LS6 long block last summer and it will be going in to my '95 M3. Since buying it I've replaced the rod bolts, oil pump and cam. The heads were sent out to be cleaned up and they did a five angle valve job on them as well as springs. I also did the trunion upgrade. I have all new gaskets for the engine including for the heads, which are already back on. I even went through the trouble of having the valve covers, timing and rear covers along with the oil pan blasted and powder coated black The trouble I'm going to start running into are the small little detail items. I've bought several sensors and know where they all go. But since I didn't personally tear this engine down when it came out of the car, I'm sure I've over looked a few things. I'll also have questions regarding the harness at some point. This is a list of the sensors I have.

Cam position
Crank position
Knock sensors
TPS
Coolant temp.

Primary o2 sensors are next on the list. I won't be running secondaries.

First question is, what goes in the hole on the opposite corner from the temp sensor?

I'll probably use this thread in the future as questions pop up.

Current state of engine and car.

On the opposite corner is just a plug 12x1.5 with a copper washer. Nothing special.

Next items up are the fuel injectors. What lb per hour rating should I be looking for?

Engine has the following.

MS3 cam
1 7/8 long tubes
243 Heads with 5 angle valve job
and the above mentioned FAST 92 w/92mm TB

Either the SVO 30# injectors, or go all the way up to the green top 42# injectors. On the LS1 fuel system, these flow quite a bit more than their rating, since they are rated at a lower pressure.

What type of fuel system/pressure are you going to be running?

Everything is stock except instead of the factory BMW filter I have a Napa #3737 Corvette FPR.

Check out Brapps thread over on BFC.
You can put a coolant temp sensor from a 96 and up M3 in that hole and your in dash coolant temp gauge will work (at least it will work as BMW intended which is debatable as the stock gauge has a buffer in it).

The sending unit just scews in, no adaptor is needed! Damn handy...

I'm sticking a LS6 into a 98 M3 as well....

Quick progress pic and a question. I need the bolts that hold the trans to the motor. Where would I be able to find those?

Wow that looks great! you can probably grab them at the dealer, or give them a call and ask what the specifications are for those bolts and get them cheap elsewhere.

My next question is about heavy gauge positive wire routing. There's one that goes to the starter and one that comes from the alternator. Since I'm doing a swap there really isn't any manual to go by. I'm curious how the F-Body car's wires are routed. Also, if anyone can explain the wire terminals on the starter I'd appreciated it. I'm a little confused, there are two large posts and one small one. One large is for positive feed from the battery and the small one is for the switched ignition. What is the other large one for? And why is the switched ignition post a post when the harness has a plug? That's a GTO starter by the way, I have a GTO bell housing.
