I'm getting headers in a few days, is there any benefit to having a y or x pipe vs just doing bullets dumped? So far i like my moroso and if i get another one i was thinking it might sound cleaner than having it go through a merge.

I imagine that's what i will do but i don't know how bullets off the headers compares. That's the setup i have running of the manifolds right now except no merge.

It doesn't drone at all right now so i cant imagine it would be too bad.. I would have them turned out also so that does help a lot. I'm not planning on running duals, they do sound great though.

X PIPE!!! i noticed sound and performance when i went from Y to X......trust me, you will not ever be disappointed in that. The only reason i would do a Y is so that i could run out the back, X pipe and dump'em!!

^ That's a better answer for me because there gonna be dumped either way. I guess there isn't much of a reason to not go with an x vs y in this case. But, what about just running bullets off the headers? Too loud? What kind of X pipe did you go with cajun?

I was gunna do bullets off the headers, Thunder racing said that it would loose top end power but be LOUD AS HELL!!! so i asked for the performance best set up and sound quality.....so i went with their advice and went with a Magnaflow 3 inch X with 14 inch Dynomax bullets. They ran my car to operating temp with the Y on there and found the hottest point on the exhaust, that's where they place the X (for scavenging effect)....put it this way, i could leave a donut shop with out a ticket!!! Love it.....sounds great with the lil cam!
My numbers arent too bad either...they know what they are doin down in Baton Rouge!
I really want to dyno again since my airbox and fuel injector upgrade

I think moroso and dynomax are fairly similar, if i recal dynomax is a bit louder, and from what your saying probably an x pipe. Did order your x pipe from them? Yeah i figure straight of headers would be too loud..

I actually picked it up from their exhaust guy in Walker,LA....Walker Muffler is his bizzness. He did my exhaust. This guy had the fastest 1/4 mile pass in a stock 2010 in Louisiana, now this car is F1R and 1200hp+ to the rubber! Ask Shane at Thunder Racing how baddass that car is, He was finishing it when i left the dyno session 8 months ago.

The bullets with be loud, I like the way they sound. My have no cats as well. Compared to alot of the Y-pipe setups I've heard the x-pipe has a much deeper thump to it. The Y-pipes are alot raspier and crackly.

duals drone alot, but after having them i will never ever go back to a raspy y pipe again, also with my set up there was a sotp gain from switching to duals over a catback, i always tell everyone that if you want a loud exhaust that sounds great duals are the ticket
and my vote is swetthunders,by far the best sound i have heard on a ls car, i think the chambered sounds great
