Default kooks header to kooks y pipe leak?

Just installed a brand new set of kooks headers and catted y on my sons 01 camaro and cant stop the aggrevating leak at their union. we have the high quality band type clamps on the slip-fit and have tightened them down good, but still have that pesky leak. we have anan adjustable borla cat back with no plate installed, so back pressure is a non-issue. any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks

There is a product called Permatex high temp red RTV silicone which works pretty good. Only a few bucks, it's worth a try.
