Default Bbk headers install HELP

Im installing my bbk lt headers and the passenger header is pretty much jammed against the floorboard, the driver side is perfect. Has anyone else had this problem? We we're thinking about trying to bend the header away from floor? Is that a good or bad idea

Definitely not a good idea to bend the header.

You need to try to get a different angle and shimmy it in. Lift the car up higher so you can get a better angle in.

Hammer the floor, do not bend the header. Never heard of these fitting poorly.

The car is sitting 7 ft off the ground on a lift. And wouldn't the header gaskets leak if slims are there?

Use some type of jack and jack it up with a short piece(3"-4" Length) of thick walled metal pipe (3"-4" dia.) up against the body until you have the needed clearance. That's what I did for some clearance with the passenger side header flange.

The header is on, and they're close enough to the floor that they vibrate against the floorboard

Im not sure. I would call them and tell them. or heat up the pipes were they bend them to be parralel with the floor board and bend them down some.

BBK's are pretty well known for fitting very well on these cars. Not sure what you meant by that. Not everyone has the cash for Kooks/ARH

on a few installs with other headers , the bolt holes for the headers at the head are a little big and allow some movement of the header , you might try loosening up the header and pulling down on the collector and see if that gives you the needed room

other wise look at your motor and trans mounts

What we end up doing was put a half moon shaped pieace of steal in the collector & took a breaker bar & just slightly pulled the header away from the floor, I'm talking .080th of a inch, then was able to take the heat shield off, and worked the part of the shield that was hitting up in that spot, reinstalled heat shield & now have around a quarter inch of clearance, drove car all weekend no problems or noises at all

I took of my driver side heat shield there was over a inch of gap so the heat wont get to it.
