LS1 Coolant Direction?

Question LS1 Coolant Flow Direction?

I've been trying to determine which way the coolant goes through the radiator. One place in the shop manual says the thermostat housing lets coolant into the engine, but in another place it says the T-stat housing lets the coolant flow out of the engine into the radiator . . . which is right?

The water goes into the motor thru the lower hose thru the motor & out the upper hose thru the radiator.
The thermostat regulates temperture by controlling the amount of cooled water the water pump can pull from the radiator.

Thanks wrencher. I just verified what you said with an infrared heat gun on the hoses. The lower hose is a lot cooler than the upper hose.
