Change Oil Light?

When i start my car up my "Change Oil Light" comes on. Stays on for maybe a minute then goes off. Is this normal, i mean , should i worry about this. Any ideas why this would happen. Thanks.

Reset the oil life monitior w/ the trip reset.

hold the trip reset for 12 seconds with the key in the "run" position with the engine off

So basically. Turn the key forward. Then hold the trip reset button down for 12 seconds and this will rid this?

i push the gas pedal down three times and mine goes away.

It's in the owners manual, when you change your oil, if you dont reset your trip odometer, the computer will know your car has gone past the 3000 mi. point or whatever they set it at and the change oil light willl come on as a reminder....the 12 second thing is what the owners manual says to do....your supposed to do it after you change your oil to reset it for the next 3000 mi.
