Default BBK Headers Question

Hey guys I'm looking into getting some headers for my T/A. Im on a typical college student budget. So I'm looking for something budget friendly. I came across these BBKs. Wish the y-pipe was catted though :/.

http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/sk...L/B451694.html

Not sure if it comes with everything. It says "Requires BBK short X-pipe for a complete installation to the cat-back exhaust system" Looks to me like I only need the header and y-pipe, whats with this x-pipe ****? Anyways. Are the any other header you all might know off that are around the same price? Any one have experience with these set of headers?

Any input would help tons. Thanks guys.

Any problems installing those headers? I've heard a lot of people having trouble with those. How did your installation turn out?

Go to http://www.ws6project.com/user_stor/catalog/ and get the ceramic coated headers. Only $75 more than what you're looking at now. I've got the ceramic ones on my car now, and they fit really nice; the y pipe tucks up nicely and the headers slid right in with no problems. I bought o2 extensions, new exhaust manifold bolts, GM MLS gaskets, plugs and wires when I changed them out. Trust me, you will thank yourself for changing the plugs during the header install.

Actually I am installing everything this saturday and then Ill let you know how it goes! I did alot of research before I made the purchase and alot of people didn't have much of a problem. A friend of mine, on his Z28 has ebay stainless lt's and didn't have any real problems with getting them on. Hopefully it shouldnt give me a hard time!

I'd be careful about ordering anything off ebay. However, there is a member I had a discussion with not long ago about OBX, he was responding to another member's post who had the same question as you. He said they were pretty good and liked em. And your right about the ORY, much cheaper, and those chrome BBK's you were looking at are going for $335 with free shipping from WS6 Store, much cheaper to go ORY lol my brother is doing it and pretty much saying to hell with the inspection. He too is a college student on a budget. But if you really need cats, do your homework on the OBX's before you buy.

One thing I did forget to mention, keep in mind you will have to buy the O2 extensions and O2 simulators, thats about 150ish in addition to whatever LT's you decide to buy.

Thank you for your imput My number one right now are the bbks and I just saw them on the ws6 store haha. If I had a bit more cash I'd go pacesetter 1 3/4 ceramis coated with a catted TSP y-pipes and all the extension and **** for about 770.00 on texas-speed. But here in texas do they even check if we have cats when we go for inspection? I do want ORY's but my dad is the problem lol

In Laredo, you shouldn't have a problem finding a shop that wouldn't go poking around for them. You will, however, need to make sure you aren't throwing a check engine light, even shitty inspection shops might take exception to passing you with the CEL on...

Depends on where you go, some do and some don't, when my brother went to get his, they busted his *** because he had and SLP LM1 which has a resonator and no muffler. They gave him crap about it till my dad showed up and said he knew the owner. 10mins later, walking out with the sticker. I had an LM1 on my 99 WS6, I never had a shop tell me that my LM1 wouldnt pass. So it kinda depends, texas is just whack like that lol.
