I am going to go with the sweet thunders because of clearance issues. They sound great and are priced well. Just got to figure out if I should order them straight through the manufacturer or other distributor.

Thanks for the help guy.

OP,

Just be aware that the sweet thunders IMO, are the loudest mufflers for duals. It will be very loud. My bullets are already loud. I cant imagine even being anymore louder. Something to keep in mind. But duals hands down!!!

Here's what I want to get once I do my exhaust:

http://kookscustomheaders.com/show.php?pid=863

Never really seen it done on an x pipe dumped. These are the same mufflers used on their true dual full length exhaust.

I'm getting LPP stainless steel true duals, they come with just resonators. Maybe I can fit the resonators and mufflers after the x.

I do not mind loud as long as there is little to no rasp. I hate rasp with a passion. My car sounds like a machine gun going off at 2500 rpm with my current setup.

I'm gonna bring this thread back up instead of starting a new one. I just picked up a 2002 WS6 6 speed with 40k miles and am in the same situation again.

Looking to go true duals as the car is bone stock and i want to do it right the first time. Are the Classic Chambered mufflers or sweet thunders still the way to go?? I'll be running dual 2.5 inch with a x pipe out to 4 inch Corsa clone tips. Also gonna be running TSP 1 7/8" longtubes as I have had good luck with them in the past.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Yep I have had classic chambered medium power sticks on my car and it's been great.

I recommend Summit Racing® Narrow Universal X-Pipe Kits SUM-643130.

You can easily fit a 3" diameter pipe for whole system but magnaflow makes a 2.5" x pipe also.

Either way you ll need the panhard bar relocation kit, check out founders performance for that.

Those are very good recommended pieces, and over the axel would be the way to go , and OP would be wise to go with that. But I believe he is going dumped .

I am going on the back to Corsa Clone tips. I def will go over the axle as long as no shops try to give me the run around on how difficult it is. Gonna run the panhard relocation as well to make things easier. I am just trying to decide on mufflers. The rasp and crackle my last car had drove me nuts.

Gotcha sorry missed the part about the tips . Yes a T/A does need to go out the back any thing else comes up short . So what muffler are you leaning toward ?

I'm leaning towards the Classic Chambered powersticks but I have seen a few videos on youtube of cars sounding like garbage after you let off the throttle after hard acceleration. So I am still a bit iffy. XR1's would be my next choice

I have Moroso Spiral flows on duals and they sound awesome, lower volume for a bullet, but still not quiet. ZERO drone!

I have the sweet thunders on my duals. It's loud (I have a cam though) and obnoxious at times. Sounds sweet at WOT, but I eventually want to tone it down. Looking for some type of muffler/packed resonator instead of this straight through bullet design.
