Default Borla Catback LT1 on a LS1?

Is this possible? My buddy is willing to sell me his brand new Borla Catback except it's for his LT1 Camaro. I was just wondering if this would be possible for me to fit it on my LS1 Camaro. I have heard that you can go LT1 catbacks to LS1 but not vise versa. Opinions?

the axleback portion of the exhaust is the same. the front half is a little bit different but not anything dramatic. You may have to get some fabbing done by an exhaust shop but nothing dramatic. Hope that helps you!

Yep, LT1s have the 'L' shaped flat steel bracket while LS1s have the bent rod

In fact, most exhaust systems come with the 'S' shaped cat adapter pipe for the 93-95 models. Take it off and the intermediate pipe should bolt right up to any 96+ V8 stock y-pipe regardless of motor

Do you have any pictures you could show me of what your talking about exactly? It'll make more sense once it's in front of me.

See the 'S' shaped pipe in the middle of this pic? It adapts the intermediate pipe to the single cat on 93-95 cars. Leave it off, and the intermediate pipe *should* slip right onto the outlet of the 96/97 and 98+ y-pipes... if its not a direct fit, shouldnt be off by more than an inch or two

Don't know if you're still working on this but I just had the same problem. I called Borla and according to them although it looks almost the same there are almost no bends that are the same in the exhaust. I don't know that I truly buy that. It looks like if you modify the drivers side hangar and then buy the first piece of the 98-02 exhaust that connects to the y-pipe it will work fine. I haven't tried this so I don't know. I just sold the lt1 exhaust and bought the ls1 exhaust.
