Default Ignition and plugs....

If i'm going to put MSD wires and NGK plugs, would i have to do put the entire MSD ignition system on the car or is just the new plugs and wires ok?

P.S...is the "v-power" NGK plug better than the regular platinum NGK??

I believe our cars originally came stock with a platinum plug.
Also Im not sure what the v-power plug is.

I just ordered some NGK Iridiums (pre-gapped .050) and GM performance plug wires to replace a set of Accel 9000's I was using, I had one touch the header and it burned it pretty good.

Ok, i just found out what the v-power is...basically the low end plug they make...he says it will do the job, but people mainly go for it b/c its the cheapest plug they make. I'm probably going to go w/ the iridium plug as well. Thanks.

Default Anyone know?

So whats better between a platinum or iridium...i know iridium is said to be better but a lot of people said its not worth the money for basic bolt on mods. Any opinions?

Iridium will buy me more time in having to change plugs, other than that theres not supposed to be a big difference.

Dont waste your money on Iridium you can change NGKtr55 like 10 times for what they cost. I dont think I ever changed my spark plugs that many times in any of the car i owned. TR55 all the way.

new plugs and wires are good, msd wires are realy good,
you want a wire wound core, and when you get the wires check the ohms
it should read between 25 and 150 ohms per foot, (ex. a 116 ohm plug wire that is about three feet long works out to about 40 ohms per foot) any less than 25,or more than 150 is not very good for performance.
the msd wires should read about 40 ohms per foot.

I know i met Rob "the chef" from east side the other day and he told me about it. I want to go sooo bad b/c i want to meet more people w/ f-body's but i have to work and my job sucks so i cant get the day off. I'm a member at CTFBA.com though too and i already got the days i need off for the spring gathering. Otherwise if your ever just cruising i know newington is about 40 min from here but we can meet up anywhere when i'm not workin.
