piston to valve clearance question
I am trying to decide who I wanna use to custom spec me a cam but I am wondering about PTV clearance and cannot check without having a cam. I dont wanna have a cam speced out and the the damn thing wont work, I am running a LQ9 stock bottom end and have a et of 243 heads with 63cc chambers that have professional P&P job 2.08 intake and 1.60 exhaust valve. I know the flat top pistons and the large valves may give me trouble and wondered if the person that specs me a cam can tell me if I will have isues or not, rotating assy. is out of the car so I could go with some new pistons if I need to but really dont wanna. Thanks for any info

I had Pat G spec me a cam about a month ago. They say you should always check PTV, but the person spec'ing the cam should know what will fit with your situation. I can only assume Pat G didn't spec me a cam that is going to have PTV issues with my combo I provided him.

I am going to check PTV clearance when I get a cam but I didnt want to have a cam a speced out and when I measure clearance it wont fit without valve reliefs. I have been looking around and it looks like guys are running l92 heads on LQ9's and they have a 2.16 intake valve and seem to clear but I am probably gonna send Pat G an email and see cause I am gonna have him spec me out a cam in a week or so. Not sure who on here specs cams out cause I have been out of the scene for a couple years, last I heard he and predator z were the guys to get it done.
