Default Sick of the Rasp! (HELP)

As you can see in my signature I have LT's with ORY and SLP LM. I do not like the sound it gives off and the rasp. Should I go with a true duals set up (what is the cheapest route?) or should i just put in a bullet muffler?

The bullet will not eliminate the rasp. Cats help and the Borla XR1 is major improvement.

I put a bullet in the "I" pipe and it cured my rasp and gave it a better sound as well.

i had that same setup with macs ory and slp lm...replaced the resonator with a bullet and it helped a little but not a whole lot...
i cured it completly by going to true duals and it's actually not as loud...x pipe with 2.5 pipe run through magnaflow bullets..

98 ss a4 ...heads/cam..stall..gears...etc etc..

you might also try getting a very good maybe even custom fabbed y. The better the y the less the rasp, the other option is the true duals which garantees no rasp. This is the way I chose and the duals are pretty bad *** I must say.

They can cost over 1,000.00

A bullet is 25.00-30.00, it will not get rid of 100% of the drone/rasp but the car sounds alot better.

I got some bad RASP in mine as well. From what everyone has told me and from what i have read is to put a bullet muffler in the I pipe (wont loose any power either). Think that is the cheapest route. Thats what im going to do. I had a guy willing to sale me his old one for 40 bucks. But, man i got my DWI and my account went to **** real quick. Soon, im getting one.

I have seen several guys install the 18 inch bullet in the intermediate pipe and then a small 12 inch bullet in each tailpipe, after the muffler.

Well I have said this before I just put on a Moroso Spiral one. It got rid of the rasp 95% I would almost say 100%. I had Macs, Custom ORY and GMMG. The car sounds like a a v-8 now the whole time you are driving it. There still is a tiny bit Drone but is to be expected with this setup. I could not have a conversaion with my wife and daughter in the back I felt bad it was way to loud in the car and sounded like crap 2,000 to 2,800rpm I would totally give my approval John

Install a Magnaflow instead of the resonator and then have a Dynomax bullet installed where the Y connects to the catback. It took care of 95% of the rasp.

I had the same setup as you. I cut the LM resonator off and replaced it with a Dynomax 18" bullet. I also installed a cutout before the muffler. The bullet muffler is alot quieter and it eliminated alot of the rasp. I'm much happier with it.
The 18" bullet was about 30 bux and the cut out was about 28bux from JEGS.

ok, how much does a shop charge to rip out the resonator and put in the replacement bullet muffler?

That can range based on the labor rate of the shop. I paid $35.

I did cure the rasp and drone, but it has killed a lot of hp in the process. I went to the track today and with ls6 intake and headers i picked up less than 2 tenths. Before the install of this muffler i was breaking the tires loose at 4k now it does not do it. I have no dyno chart to prove it and i would have it dyno'ed but i don't want to waste the money. It's gotta go, but i don't know what else to do.
