it looks like an attempt at a port, but not a good job.

the second pic looks to still have the triangular ridge in the runner. That is normally the first thing that someone grinds away when porting. Here are pics of mine, it's hard to tell from your pics but I think your pic #2 looks like my first pic. Second pic of mine is with the ridge removed:

how much of a difference does it make taking out the wedges anyway?

also, after you took it apart, how hard/what did you have to do to seal it back up?

I took the ridge down all the way so that the walls were flush. There are some threads on tech about porting. You need a new rope seal that Fast sells, also Summit and probably most sponsers on here. Have to cut it to length and where the seal pieces mate, you need a dab of RTV. It is basically a rope that you cut into a bunch of section that you glue together. Very easy. There is about 7-10" of extra rope if you mess up a cut or something. I just made it the same way as Fast originally made it. You will see when you pull it apart. As far as porting, I removed the ridges and removed every bit of casting flash from all 3 sections, then ported the tb opening up to 92mm to match my 92mm tb. Since a fast 90 is the same as a 92 in every way except the tb opening, you can save a bit of cash and open the tb opening up yourself and have a 92mm Fast intake in the end. Will post some pics of the seal deal in a few mins.

From what I have read, I have heard numbers all over the place from 10-25hp. I have no idea what the number really is, I cannot port like Mr. Mamo lol. I had free time this winter so I figured that even if it is a 5hp gain, it's worth my time

That intake is 100% un-ported.
