Pulling 1/8 7.98 @ 86 mph . Will these headers help or hurt?

My 01 engine is stock except for a lid cat delete and bassini off road y. Plus a hooker muffler on the stock I pipe. It has a frost tune. It has a fti 3600 stall and a s60 with 3:73 gears. The car runs strong. I recently picked up some hooker long tubes and I have hesitated installing them. Afraid of messing up a good thing. Do you think I will pick up any mph? Or should I wait to do a cam first?

I am having frost retune for the headers and gear change. I was hoping to port my throttle body too.

yes you will gain, no way to lose with better flow.

Those are good times for the mods. Locally there was a m6 car running 7.50's with similar mods, and the track he was running is horrible. I will post up some pics of that place.

my automagic car picked up 8 mph in the 1/4 going from completely stock exhaust to long tubes and true duals, stock tune. it ultimately picked up more after some trans tuning (4k stall shifting issues) and engine tuning.

i don't think your car will pick up huge, because you've already gotten rid of the cats and factory muffler, the 2 biggest restrictions imho. i bet you'd see 2-3 mph in the 1/8 at most with a mail order tune. my 99 m6 car consistently trapped 107 with a lid and weld in 80 series. i swapped the 99 manis and stock y for a set of 01 manis and ory, no tune etc the car picked up 3 mph in the 1/4. i just installed a set of hooker super comps, but haven't been to the track. i'm using the tsp y, factory i pipe, and same muffler.

I d be happy with just a few mph gain. I definitely need some retuning. Ever since the gear change my shift points have been off . Frost said he would retune for me . With the headers I bought a crappy looking dual set up that I doubt I ll use. There is definitely more there. The track I run at hardly preps the track at all . So I am lucky if I get it to hook. We re going to make a trip to a quarter mile track once this summer.
