Default which lid to replace my MTI?

Taking my car to have tuned Wed and just realized the MTI is cracked in the seams. What should I replace it with? And will my filter still work with another brand, its a k & n

I just replaced my 5th SLP lid with a FTP after having sealing issues with the SLP's on my ws6 air box. Everyone will say a lid's a lid's a lid, just get what you thing looks best IMO

Yep. I personally have an SLP, and I'll modify the throat opening before I get a FTP.... That said, it's a good idea on ANY lid to seal up the underside of the lid seam where it sits against the filter with some weather stripping. 1/4" usually does the trick.

I have a Camaro Performers magazine from way back in 2004 that compared all the different lids. They're test the Slp fit and sealed up the best on the airbox. Performance wise they were all about the same. The Slp just fit the best.

^do you ever wonder if those tests are "rigged" for money purposes? Because I've had 5 SLP lids and none of them sealed the back of my air box. The first time I put the FTP on it sealed perfect, granted I have the raised air box that is known for fitment issues. Nothing against SLP as I know they make a good product, I'm just curious about the testing

I've had 2 Slp lids and my buddy has a clear mti lid and they fit about the same. I do wonder the same thing, but have never personally used any of the others
