Default Excited! Ordering my tsp headers tomorrow.

So tomorrow morning I'll be putting in my order for my 1 7/8 stainless TSP headers. I'm not sure how I'm gunna put them in yet, I don't really have anywhere good to install them. I got a quote from a shop to do it AND build true duals for 700. What do you guys think of that price? I can still shop around, but that seems fairly reasonable. I may also just stick with a y pipe. I'm happy I decided to go with these instead of going with ceramic or 1 3/4 headers.

some people pay more than that for duals.. so that sounds reasonable. As for a place.. I did the install in my garage with the help of a friend. Lots of wood blocks and a jack to get the car up high enough on the jack stands (3 2x4's under the jack for the final lift) and I promise you it could not have been done any lower lol. (this was with a cheapo 2 ton jack from autozone). All I had to take off for mine was spark plugs (to put new ones in) plug wires, starter, steering knuckle, oil drain plug and filter, and .. actually that was all. Most all of that had to come off and get outta the way for the stock manifolds to come out anyways *shrug*. Drivers side slipped in like it was greased up, passenger side took some working with friend above watching where it was hitting so I could adjust from below. Good luck if you try it yourself!!!

Bonus of DIY.. you get to crank it up with open headers

Hmm maybe I'll see if there's a way I can do it. If not its off the a shop.

i got the TSP 1 3/4" headers. the passenger side went in no problem, but the drivers side is being a big PITA. i still haven't got it in. i got the little jack too, and i had to use a 2X12, and a 4X4 to jack my car up. the 6 ton jackstands are almost extended all the way.

did you remember to take out the drain plug? that little bit was what I kept hanging on after that it was just a matter of getting the angle right, you want the collector facing almost straight down when you first start sliding it up. a buddy above telling you where you're hitting helps a TON too. good luck to both of you!

mine kept hitting on the edge of the bellhousing and on the LCA. BUT, what i think i need to do is take out the motor mount and pedestal and jack the engine up some, and probably the steering knuckle too. i tried to get the pedestal out, but i couldn't get out the bolts that connect it to the block.
