What type of CATS?

What type of CATS?

My Z28 has 58,000 miles on it and I know I'm going to be looking at replacing the CATS probably this year.

Is there a particular type, or manufacture, that is preferred by LS1 owners?

I've seen advertisements for 'high flow' CATS but I don't know if there for street driving or performance applications.

Random Tech, Magnaflow, and Carsound are all great. Random Tech. being the most expensive. Magnaflow and Carsound are the same cat. Magnaflow is just the performance division of Carsound. You get a polished heat sheild w/ the Magnaflow's...ooo-ahhhh... Thats the only difference.

I would go w/ either Carsounds or Magnaflows. You can get them pretty cheap.

Why would having 58K mean that you need new cats? I've had cars with 140K+ that were using stock cats and had no problems.

If you want to replace them for better flowing aftermarket ones I can see that, but otherwise there is no reason to replace them unless you're throwing codes for it.....
