Default true duals and emissions

Ok, I don't know very much about the emissions systems on these cars so bare with me here. I'm getting a true dual exhaust system put on along with some jet hot headers. Now if im running a true dual exhaust with no cats, what has to be done to the emissions system. And do I want emissions legal headers or are they pointless. I would just have everything removed but I don't know how long it will be before I can have it tuned. Thanks everyone.

You live in TX, so I figure that you don't have to be emissions legal? You can put cat converters on long tube headers if you really want to, but either way it's not 100% "legal" since you moved the location of the stock cats. The only way you can stay 100% legal is to get shorty headers, as you will not have to move the cats anywhere. But since you don't need emissions, just go with the long tubes (or non emissions legal headers, as you call 'em ) and have fun with the duals

Default Thanks

but that's not even close to what I was asking. I am putting on long tubes( and there are emissions legal long tubes and no emissions legal long tubes, legal ones have the emissions hook up tubes on them) I need to know what all needs to be done for this setup with no cats and no tunning. In other words, can you have a true dual setup with no cats and not have tunning done. If so, what is required to do this, and if so, do I need headers with the air tubes. Thanks for trying to help tho.

Default ok

I was pretty sure I needed the o2 sims." I need the air tap and egr" So your saying I do need headers with the air tubes. and yes I have egr. 98 T/A. So emissions legal headers and o2 sims. Thats all im going to need. Good deal. And it is probraly going to be tuned I just wanted to see if anything was going to be different if I didn't( which like I thought the only diff. is going to be that I keep my emissions equipment. Thanks for the help.

if all you have is an OBDII test then LT's with the emissions provisions (air/egr) and o2 sims for the rears are all you'll need.
