Car dies when suddenly braking, panic stops, reverse, etc.

Default Car dies when suddenly braking, panic stops, reverse, etc.

Mods are in sig. It's especially bad at the track when trying to slow down from 118mph. It will want to die and the rpm drops down to 450-600 and will just struggle to stay running and eventually die. I threw a vacuum cannister on it to see if it would help, with barely any difference.

What can I do to help? Car was already dyno tuned

Data log it, and see WTF is going on...
What do you have for a fuel tank? Baffled? Fuel psi stay up when this happens?
A loose converter can cause such issues if not tuned for it.

The tune needs work. Likely the throttle cracker and follower tables, at least that's how I fixed mine.

Exactly what Thunder said. Just make sure to pay attention to clutch in/out status when tuning as it turns one of the tables on and off. Just cannot remember which atm.

When you go closed throttle the engine is starving for air. I'd give the follower table a look first.

Some people don't like to use it but rolling idle can play a part as well. It raises your idle to 1100 or so when coming to a stop to ensure proper vacuum. If you are going to use it, make sure it is set right first before you mess witht he follower and cracker as the ecu combines various table to control the IAC.

Thanks for the responses everyone. I think I'm gonna get hp tuners and just go off the dyno tune and make small adjustments. While I save up for it, would opening the tb up a little bit with the screw help or just cause more headaches? I figure if I count the turns and write it down when fixing the tune ill set it back

It might or might not help. At first it would likely help but in my experience the PCM corrects for it based on the desired idle flow tables in the pcm.

So if you open the tb more, the pcm will just close the idle air control motor more to make up for the difference in flow.

Someone can correct me if that is incorrect but seems to be what I have experienced.

Mine does the same thing, however, It doesn't have a tune. Get a new tune, you'll be straight.
