You can run whatever size pipe fits your app, and you obviously already know that the smaller pipe will limit the power. I personally would run atleast a 3" single pipe, if at all possible. Even though you are not trying to make a ton of power, a 3" pipe may put you closer to 300hp than your goal of 250.

What exactly are you asking? Is it going to be a restriction? No, not at stock levels. And if you're talking about the LS1 only making 250rwhp they make more than that bone stock through an automatic.

I agree with this, I mean you probably will be able to reach that 250rwhp goal, but that single 2.5" exhaust will be very restrictive, even on a stock application. That would be smaller than the stock exhaust on LS1 F-Bodies.

Thankyou for the replies .... 250 at the wheels is good for a patrol it is measured through my 35 inch tires and massive gearbox transfercase and large diff so getting 250 without a cam is sorta at the top end in my app was more worried about the engine getting hotter as it will be a smaller tail pipe , also was thinking 2.5 inch as I have the muffler and 100cell stainless cat already sitting here spare But then was looking at the magnaflow supercharger that bolts right in the valley with a water to air in it , so twin 2.5 inch will be more suited ,but gets up there in delivery as I live in Australia

2.5 isnt horrible, but not ideal. Can you run a 3in pipe into your 2.5 muffler, then back to 3in again? That will not hurt it at all.

A stock ls1 camaro catback is 2.75 with 2.25 tail pipes

Quick Reply: single 2.5 inch on ls1
