I don't know about other states, but our scrap yards don't take them. I had to find an auto salvage place. The OEM cats off my 02 went for $25 each. Aftermarket cats were worthless, my buddy got rid of one of his, and it sold for $5.
That sucks maybe the state doesn't want the problem we have here in that in some cases when you go buy a new truck or suv you get a nice surprise when you crank it up, and all the cats are chopped off,
