So when driving, there is a weird metallic like noise coming from under the car. only happens when slowing down or after each downshift or backing up. and it doesn't make the sound once its a little under 2000 RPMS. not sure what it could be. its louder on the right side of the car also. so my only conclusion is that it could be the passenger side catalytic converter but i dont know, any suggestions?

no vibrations at all, and it doesnt sound like its coming from the rear of the car. would a messed up catalytic make a sound like that? it makes the noise when car is revved also.

 

Tap the converter, if it rattles, you found your problem.
