Default New rubber motor mounts, or polys?

I'm thinking about replacing my stock 116k mile motor mounts, as the motor seems to have some excessive shake, also I'm still chasing down some vibrations on the highway, and it's possible they could be it.

I was hoping MOOG sold some motor mounts for LS1s, but even on the MOOG website, they sell Prothane only. So on Rockauto there's some different branded stock rubber mounts. I like a vibration free car, and my car rarely visits the drag strip. From someone who drives their car everyday and has poly motor mounts, would you do polys again, or go with a NEW stock rubber mount kit? Thanks

Trans mount was replaced. I've checked a LOT of things, but that's a whole new thread

i dont dd it, but love the polys. cant really tell that i got vibes from the motor mounts but the tranny mount deff makes some vibes now. solid as hell tho and love the feel of it. no more exhaust jumping around and my motor doesnt look like its going to jump out of the hood, and i only have 63k miles on the car. if your going to do it, dont do factory rubber again

You do have another option, new factory rubber mounts with liquid Urethane poured in around all the voids between the mount and the metal shell.
FYI, I have poly motor mounts and it's not bad at all, it's a very mild increase in felt engine movement. I DD my car and have no regrets at all with installing poly motor mounts.

I put poly's in mine and I like them. No real excessive vibrations, but I can feel them being a bit more solid.

For DD and vibes matter go back with rubber. I've had worn out rubber, polys, solids, good rubber, and polys again.....in that order.

I have Motovative solid mounts and a poly trans mount in my GTA. Minimal vibration except for when my monster clutch wants to chatter. I'll probably put poly mounts in my 01 mostly to compare them to the solids but as hard as poly is I can't imagine there's much difference between the two considering how little vibration I have in the GTA.

For a vibration free ride, your going to need new rubber transmission/engine mounts. Polys are great but its going to shake alittle bit, some people find it okay others do not, hell some people say solid mounts don't bother them. In the end replacement rubber mounts are going to be fine for 50-100k more miles.

I would expect poly and solid to vibrate more with an auto, the engine is under load at a stop where as it's unloaded with the clutch in with a manual trans. My GTA is the first car I've had with solid mounts and it's got a t56 so I'm sure that's why vibration is so minimal. I actually really like the way the car feels compared to my 01 with rubber mounts

Alright, I just ordered some Prothane mounts. I've been in 2 cars with poly mounts, and they really aren't that noticeable. I was really hoping MOOG sold some motor mounts, or I'd definitely be all over those.

I just do NOT want to do the work of installing motor mounts soon.
