Default Need help with gauge hook up

So I have tried re-wiring my boost and fuel pressure gauge multiple times with no luck (I suck with electronics by the way). So heres what happening: Both gauges are reading the same identical value which is usually 28 - 30 when normal cruising. If I just turn the ignition to ON position without starting the car, it will read the same 28 - 30 but will slowly work itself down. I feel like its reading battery power or something. Any ideas? Ive tried re-doing the ground directly to the battery and that didnt help.

What brand of gauges ? My boost gauge only uses power to light up when the headlights are on. The vac/boost reading comes from the vac hose on the back of the intake manifold.
