A friend of mine has a perfectly good starter for a 2000 Silverado and he was going to let me use it until I can buy a new one for my 02 TA. I just want to make sure it would work before I drive over 45 minutes to his house.

Yes it will work. I use the one off a 6.0 truck. It seems to have more tq. Turns the engine better than one off a Vette, in back to back test I've done.
