Essentially it is just straight pipes. It does use a resonator but its straight through with no baffles/restrictions.

SLP Loudmouth has a muffler, but the muffler is a completely straight through design. So yes, you could almost call it straight pipes.

Loudmouth 2 has a straight through muffler.

LM1 is just a 4" can with nothing in it. It's a 4" hollow piece of pipe.

Hum, quess I'll pass on the loudmouth. I already have true dual straight pipes, gutter cats, shorty headers, and good sized cam. I like the sound, just looking for a bit more tone.
Thanks guys

To me an original slp loudmouth with high flow cats is perfect....take the cats off an it's raspy as hell (even more than with the cats lol)...def dosent sound as "refined" as a rear muffler split system...the old school gmmg is tops in that category

They were thinking it was a low cost option to the C5... The Y pipe was an easier design to run so that is what they went with.

We have these sponsors that help us fix GM mess ups however. LOL

As far as rasp, I don't have any, or the diesel truck sound. The big cam and Shorty headers took care of that.

As far as passing, I'm thinking the LM1 will sound exactly like what I have now. That would just be a waste of money. If i found a cheap used system I might take a chance on it. I'm married with 3 kids, so i have to make appear like I'm trying not to waste money in my wife's eyes.lol

Remember an LMI will sound entirely different on a Corvette compared to an F-Body. Corvette has true duals from the factory. Rasp is a product of the Y-pipe (most notably ORY's with a crappy merge).

Don't know why so many people complain about the LM1. Yes it is loud as hell, but that is the purpose...it doesn't even have a muffler! If you want something quieter get a system with a conventional muffler.

I have tsp tds with bullets with headers and my old car with lm1 ory and headers was louder with a ypipe but def didn't sound no where near as good as the tds. I've thought about switching out the bullets and putting Slp lm1 resignators on it to make it louder lol. Anybody think that's a bad idea? I love ear bleeding loud so that's not a problem for me. It's the rasp I hate
