Default Alt/exiter connection?

I went to put my alt back on after a motor swap and the wether proof connector for the exiter wire is missing. I know it is just the one wire, can I just make a single end and get it connected to the alt or is the wether proof connector needed for it to work right? Also does anyone know where I could find just a connector?

EDIT: I found a new connector at NAPA but my question is on the connector how to determine what lead is B.

Look carefully at the alternator (where the plug goes) the letters are embossed on the housing.

Fwiw...I ripped my connector off changing the alt multiple times. I went to a bone yard and took one off a 3.1 Monte Carlo. Same connector. I cut about 6 inches of wire off with the connector and spliced it in to make it longer to avoid this.

Also, all the wire colors are the same as well. Just cut and connect.
