Converter first, then cam. Stick within the 3500-4000 range. You may be cutting yourself short if you do otherwise.

IMO 3.73 would be a good choice. I went with 4.10's and its not ridiculous by any means on the highway. With my converter locked on the highway i turn about 2800 doing 70+mph. I wish I would have went with the 3.73.

224/228 is the duration. (Basically how long the valves are open) 581/588 is the lift. (How "wide" the valves open) 224 is the duration of the intake valve. 228 is the exhaust. Same with the lift 581-intake 588-exhaust. 114 is the lobe seperation. 1600-6600 is where the cam "produces" the best results. Make sense?

Honestly, without a converter....The best cam for your car is the stock cam. I'm not trying to be an *** by saying that, I'm just trying to be up front with you.

i would be asking the california guys for advice on this as well. you will have to pass smog tests out there. i doubt that 233/239 would pass.

theres a lot of good info on here doing emissions legal mods.

a cam around 224-228 duration and a 3600 stall would be awesome mods to add.
