header comparison i need some input on a header comparison ive got, im currently running slp's long tube headers on my 2000 z28 and im lookin to swap to either the kook's 6504S-MC or the hooker super comp 2291-1HKR the only difference between the two is the kook's r stainless steel and the hooker's r steel but a big price difference between them also. now the reason im swapping headers is the slp's have ridiculous clearance issues, all my exhaust from the headers back is custom and i cant lower the car bc of the headers and im sick of having these clearance issues so time for another set, thanks
I've had my SLP's on since ~2004 and am dying to get rid of them as well.
ARH are top notch along with Kooks. TSP LT's are a great budget LT and apparently perform well too.. IMO, no need for 1 7/8" primaries unless the car is living at 7k rpm. .........Just my opinion.

Check edelbrock's website. Sometimes on the clearance page they have headers for dirt cheap. I found a set of 1 3/4 stepped to 1 7/8 with the 3.5 hvmc and matching y pipe for 350 bucks. Stainless to boot.
I can not stress how nice the bbk headers are. They slid in perfect and I had no clearance issues. My car is pretty dang low and so far I have rubbed the flange once from the look of it, but if I rub on something its mostly my dumped bullet muffler.

Not what I've heard. I'm sure once in a while someone has a bad experience but I can't seem to recall anyone having a problem with BBK headers ever, other than the fact that they don't like the 2.5" merge or that the chrome wears off and leaves the finish vulnerable after a while...By and large BBK fitment is great.
That being said I opted for ARH which has equally good fitment and are bigger pipes and stainless.
