thats what i really want to do. p&p 5.3 heads with ms3 or custom cam. this leak sounds bad tho, and fumes get inside when i step on it. im going to at least attempt, and at very worst i should just have long tubes with in an exhaust leak vs manifolds with an exhaust leak. if im lucky ill pull the broken one and have no more leak. will possibly start today. need to run some airands and let the pb soak for a few hours.

I snapped a bolt installing headers on mycar.......let it go for a while.....then started throwing a lean code.....got tired of the code and pulled the headers trying to do the vice grips method. Was unlucky and the head bolt was flush against the head. So I pulled the head and sent to a machine shop. What sucks is I had no money for 243s. After it was all said and done I had a ton of money invested just to fix a leak.

80 bucks for bolts and gm gasket
80 machine shop work to fix crossed threads and back bolt out
10 coolant tempsensor
30 new oil

So 200...... I tried the silicone to but only helped a little......maybe you will have more luck. Just my story

well im hoping when i pull manifolds bolt is still sticking out. i can feel it in the hole through manifold. the thing that makes me worried is if its cross threaded.

if it does end up being cross threaded do you guys think maybe i can get bolt tight enough without it leaking? or ill most likley need to try and rethread it with head on? im not pulling them until i pick up some other ones. i want better head and hate perimeter bolts.

Will I need to change oil again in order to get drivet side long tube on? I remember there's a small piece held on by two bolts next to oil filter that got in the way years ago when I had my other ls1, but I camt recall correctly.

If its cross threaded you fan drill and tap it from with the motor in. My dad has a tool that attaches to a ratchet that will hold a drill bit and a tap so you can do it with little room dont know what its called though. If it is crossed get it out then drill and tap it with a different size then just buy a different bolt for the back one and never look back. When are you doing this?
