Which intake manifold??
Which intake manifold?? I just recently purchase a junkyard 5.3 for a project of mine and the intake manifold has a big hole in it from them pulling the engine out. My question is should I just by another truck manifold (ported 
) or LS1 manifold? Maybe an LS6 but it's not really in the budget right now. I don't know how much porting a manifold costs though. So here's my build

It is a cruisin/mud truck. My plans are for heads cam later once I get it running and the bugs worked out. Would the truck manifold be better in this app. would the LS1 or LS6 work out better in the long run? Thanks for all input

ls1 intakes are dirt cheap and there are soo many of them from people going to ls6 intakes which are harder to find at a cheaper price because LS1 guys like me want them. Id say ls1 would be fine but if you find a good ls6 for a fair price go with that.

Is porting an option on a Truck manifold and would it be worth it?
Will an truck manifold make descent power on a cam only or heads/cam app or would it hurt it? Probably going to go with the truck for right now seeing as they are inexpensive. Just trying to find out how much potential they have.
