Default Ls6 Intake

Is a Ls6 intake worth the money for the HP and Toqure?

That depends on what you consider worthy. The simple answer is NO, 5 or 10 HP for 400+ dollars is bunk (plus the install if you don't do your own work). I got mine and I'm very happy-I like the clean look ditching the EGR provides and I plan on moving up to a H/C package so I need it anyway. Did I notice any performance gain? Uh, not really-it seems a little stronger at highway speeds but nothing you'll be amazed about. If you do go for it and you have some questions about installing it yourself, I have lots of pictures and info for ya. Good luck.

I thought it was necessary at the least.... It may not give big gains by itself, but once you start adding headers, cam, heads, it will unleash their full potential.

I love that statement! I had a 98 Z28, now I have a 02 WS.6. I stated that because the 02 has the LS6. I'm lucky!!!!!

Is there any back-to-back dynos between the LS1 and LS6 intakes? I mean I knew it was worth about 5-10 hp, but I never really considered the question of whether that was worth 400 bucks.

Thinking about it, it really sounds like it isn't, at least unless that's across the whole rev range, or unless the gain gets bigger with FI or H/C...

The gains you will pick up will be felt slightly with improved throttle response and with the headers you may pick up a little more than with just the intake alone. I am pretty sure your headers and duals cost quite a bit more than $400.
I saw a car at the dyno like mine, 00 SS, with LT's he still had the ls1 intake, but he had a lid, a ported t/b, ported maf and true duals and he dyno'ed 333hp, i dyno'ed 345 with the LT's and LS6 intake, lid, with a Morosomouth catback and no other mods.

The ls6 intake is deffinatly on my list of "must do". I've got everything else (ported TB, LT's..ory) Just seems senseless to not take advantage of another possible 10rwhp or so. Its just part of the modding game, you've got to pay to play.

Dudas35- I put down 344/353 with lid/LT's/borla (no ls6intake) After doing some benchracing math, i'd like to be able to assume after the ported TB and ls6 intake i'd be putting atleast 355+ to the wheels. [/Dynoqueen] blah blah blah... i'm ranting, good night.

So on a car with LT's, lid, and true duals the LS6 intake is worth about 12hp, is what you're saying?

Each car is different, it could be worth more to you or less. The more mods you have the more it is worth.

Seems like good math to me. Good numbers btw. The other guy i was referring to was on the same dyno that I was. That can make somewhat of a difference also.

Dudas, I see your point. Too many variables.

Pity we don't have any dynos for before-and-after on the ls6, to see what kind of gains you get across the rev range.
