I buy a lot of parts but I have to say this accurate machine works catch can is a really awesome piece of work. Honestly even it doesnt work any better then the air compressor oil seperator i have been using its worth the 90.00, what a great piece of machine work that actually has some thought in the design.
After buying one of the Greddy catch cans and almost laughing when I opened it up and it was an empty cast aluminum box (the air compressor filter worked a LOT better then the Greddy thing) I am really impressed with this one. I'll see in a few days if it works better then what I have or not - it sure looks like it will work.
Also outstanding service, paypaled them for it and the next day I had a tracking number e-mailed to me first thing in the morning. It was well packaged and includes everything you need to install it. I bought the clear anodized version and it will even look good under the hood

These catch cans have to be one of the best mods for the money, there well built and look great also. I've come up with a new design on how to mount the catch can to the head, I made another mount but it wouldn't work on the Corvettes so I came up with one that will work on both the f-bodies and Vettes. It's made out of 6061 aluminum, if you can find a shop to weld the aluminum you could make your own or I do a have a few being welded this week. Here's a picture of the bracket, as you can see this will work only with cars without the EGR.

My A/C is gone so I have plenty of mounting options
Nice looking bracket though, would be worth a few bucks if they made something like that an option for the can, it would be an easy bolt on then unless you still had your EGR.

I meant to upload this pic also, it draws in pretty high and the inside has deep ridges to keep the oil from climbing up the top. I cant see any other way to make it work better and it has zero restriction unlike the compressor filter I use when it gets soaked with oil.

Thanks, If anyone is interested in one just let me know.
I actually took a tour of the AMW shop yesterday and saw these being made for a project I'm doing. The amount of parts and the machining that go into these cans is unreal. Very high quality, well thought out product that is worth every penny. Todd was very helpful and is a great guy to deal with. It's on my 'must have' list when I have some extra money.

This really is a bargain for the amount of work involved to build it, no solution will ever catch 100% of the oil (except the no pcv/breather method if you dont mind under your hood smelling like a 62 chevy) but I think this will work pretty well.
kp,
Thanks for the inside pics. Appears to be a metal mesh type element much similar to what comes from the factory on a 5.0 Mustang. That should work well.
Only problem with no PVC valve and venting under the hood is the loss of vacuum in the crank case. The engine does pull somewhat of a vacuum which is good.

its the same metal mesh stuff the 5.0 fords used to use, I have replaced enough of those back in their day when they would get clogged up.
I would never drive a car around without a pcv, the vacuum/pulling fresh air in really helps keep the oil clean and on an all aluminum engine I would think it would help with buildup from condensation. Road draft tubes went out in the 50s for a good reason
