Default Is this upgrade worth while?

Hey guys, just wondering what some of your opinions are on this before I spend the dough. I've got a 99' ls1 ta, tsp head and cam pkg with the Bbk intake a p&p stock throttle body, stock maf and a k&n fipk. Makes 435/407 at the wheels now. Would there be decent gains by opening up the inlet on the intake to 90mm, throwing on a 90mm Holley throttle body and a Gm 85mm maf or am I wasting money? The car needs the part throttle tune touched up anyway so I thought maybe I could maximize my setup before I go back? What do you think?

IMO, it would be worth it to go up to a 85mm tb, so yeah a 90mm tb would be worth it.

I'd go with a Edelbrock 90mm tb over the Holley 90 because it will bolt up to the BBKs 3 bolt TB mount, and it's inlet stays at the same angle as the intake inlet which will allow the bellow to lineup better with the 85mm MAFS. So All you'll need to do is open up the inlet.

Oh ok. I thought the Holley was the one with the 3 bolt flange. I'll have to look again. I'll look at the edelbrock also. Thanks blue z28 for the link. What are we talking here power wise? Maybe 10 rwhp but also carrying the power out further in the rpm band?

Any body else with any experience with this type of situation? I know the Bbk is choking my combo a little but there's no room in the budget for a fast setup.

Yeah maybe, all I know is that when I went from a lS6 intake with a ported stock TB to the BBK SSI with a mildly ported BBk 85mm tb I felt a difference; like when I first put a lid on the car. BTW, I'd only suggest opening up the inlet yourself if you have all the proper tools and some porting experience, otherwise have a machine shop do it or just go with a 85mm tb.
