Default LQ4 Swap guys cmon in

Fellas im thinking of going with a forged lq4 set up in my Trans Am. For those that have done the swap, please give any input. Regrets, pros, cons....

I'm running an Lq4 stock block and crank, Wiseco Pistons, K1 Rods, Custom cam, PRC 2.5 243 heads and ported Fast 102. Pretty good setup runs like a beast.

Did add some weight so I went to a light weight AGM battery up front and did some other weight reduction. Vid in the sig , running a ls6 intake in the vid just got the fast and new fuel system installed. Gonna hit it with a 150 shot and see if I can clip off some 10 sec runs.

love my lq4 swap in my 99 t/a

pretty straight forward swap, other than having to drill the block and tap it for the alternator bracket, thats pretty much it.

im on a stock shortblock, cam, and headstuds, and i made 640whp/670tq on 10 pounds boost, this engine can definitly take a beating!

Mine made 452/422 with mild ported 241 casting heads and a f14 cam, fast 90 and victor race headers through a 12 bolt and 4.10 gears. Heavy steel drive shaft on 17" wheels.

Runs 11.32 in street trim on Nittos

All on stock lq4 pistons and 10.2/1 compression
