Default check engine light for high voltage to coolant temp sensor??

my check engine light keeps coming on and saying i have high voltage to my coolant temp sensor.sensor has been replaced and it only happens when i run the car hard or hit limiter. when this happens the car starts surging and idling to like 4000 rpms then tries to die and jerks while i drive down the road and when i shut it off its hard to crank like its flooded. does this for a little bit then quits but light stays on then after a while light goes off and car runs fine again until i run it hard or hit limiter. anyone have any idea what the problem is???

You have an open in the circuit. It's causing the PCM to read -40F and it IS flooding the engine. The terminal(s) in the sensor connector have most likely spread open causing intermittent contact.

Could be a short to power also. If it only happens after a WOT run the wires might be rubbing against something causing it.
