Factory Tach
Finally got my car going after putting all new top end in. Problem is now my factory tach isnt working. Where does this hook up at? also anything special I should do to help break in new heads and cam?
Comp cams break in procedure...not sure if anyone ever removes their inner spring:

Not sure on the tach, but I'd assume it's the crank sensor. You will not like the location.

I think IM haveing the same proble I put on a aftermarket intake and now the tach isnt working and it seems to be running in open loop some times. It does idle high till i come to a complete stop. I was told and I was thinking its the cranck sensor also but i dont know why it would go bad. PLease someone help and tell me where to try first. Thanks

Generally, it will run with a bad crank sensor, it will just run like ****. These operating systems use redundant systems as a fail safe. If the crank sensor goes bad, it will run off the cam sensor. Same with the map and maf sensors.
