I think I have the wrong or a stuck open thermostat in my 2000 SS. I can't seem to get a reliable answer on what degree the thermostat should be rated for this engine. I hear 195 degrees and 186 and 180 on various threads.
Napa shows 186 degree for their THM 506186 Heavy Duty stat, and Advanced Auto has Stant 14948 thermostats rated at 186. It seems the 195 is for the V6.
Please help...I'm freezing my nads off waiting for this engine to warm up.

That code is common after a 160* thermostat is installed from what I've read. It trips when the car runs at a low temp for too long. You should just have the code deleted in your tune or install a higher temp stat.
