Ls1 install wiring issue Just put new longblock in buddy's 98 formula started getting all the sensors and grounds hooked back up. went to hook up positive on battery and sparked like crazy..we burned the ground coming off the alternator so I replaced wire and reground it battery still sparks like crazy..I've reinstalled 3 ls1 and never had this happen please tell me what to look for and where

sounds like you may have maybe pinched a wire during the install and its causing a short to ground. Or you just have a power wire touching the block or something else. pretty much just have to check the entire harness to start with
Do you have the wiring on the starter yet? If you do make completely sure the big positive wire is the notch on the solenoid. Twice I have had it were it was not in the notch and it would spark like crazy and the first time it would crank the motor over
