Any problems/gains from 160 t stat?

Any problems/gains from 160 t stat? Hey,
the reason i'm asking about problems is because it seems like on my 97 lt1 that I had after i put the stat in the heater quit working. I don't know if the stat causes it or if it was a coincidence.

I have had mine in for almost a year. Im in FL and I autoX so it keeps the temperature perfect while its 95 degrees out in blazing sun in the long autoX lines. same for the drag strip but ive only been there once.
