The car passed before the swap, but this is the first attempt with the LS in it. I do have a canbus translator module that i am hoping is the issue. At a minimum i will make sure that is not connected to the OBD port any longer, like i think it is currently.

Don't you need it connected to pass smog? Here in Cali they do a visual and read the OBD for any codes. That's it.

I am hoping the issue is that I have both the LS OBD2 wiring to the plug and the translated data to the plug via the original wires and that is my issue. My worry is that the factory protocol was ISO9141-2 and they are only looking for that protocol on my car not the ISO 15765-4 (i think) that my LS computer provides.
