What kind of problems can a bad O2 Sensor give you?

i have oe bad o2 sensor and i know that i'm smoking a lil black exhaust gas under full acceleration, dont know if that the reason but i'd like to think so, dont wanna hijack the thread but if anycould help me out it would be appreciated

When mine were going out all the time due to the A/F guage I had hooked up, mine would feel like it was clogged when giving it gas at part throttle. Like the fuel was getting cut off. A lot of hesitation and running really rich.
