Power Steering (Camaro)
Power Steering (Camaro) So i thought i had a leaking pressure hose that was causing my whining issue due to low fluid levels. I replaced the hose and filled the fluid up.
But that has not fixed the issue of whining, it did stop the leak. But i think the pump was damaged or went out prior to me replacing the hose.
What are my replacement options, that are not going to cost an arm and leg?
Im not looking for a performance pump or anything, just something that will function like stock.

Also i just replaced my alternator and want to get this power steering fixed asap so it doesnt damage my new alternator.
So if any of the local parts store (Nappa, Oreily, Autozone or Advance Auto) have good products let me know

Something that will function like stock would be the stock replacement pump. Check out rockauto.com

when you replaced the power hose did you bleed the system to get the air out of the lines if not try and jack the car up put jack stand under so that both front tires are off the ground and with engine off turn steering wheel back and forth from lock to lock to try and push any air out you may have to do it 20 or more times to work the air out if you still have the whining than it might be time to replace the pump
